Pest Control Software Pricing: What $59, $89 and $199 a Month Get You
Pricing is often the hardest thing to find on a software website. You get “contact sales” and a form, and a week later a call with a number that depends on how many trucks, how many users and how many add-ons. For a small pest company, that makes it hard to compare. PestBossPro keeps it to three plans with the price on the page.
Three Plans
If you followed Setting Up Pest Control Software in Your First Week, you know what the setup looks like. Here is what it costs after the trial:
- Start — $59 a month. Includes 500 text segments a month, sent and received.
- Pro — $89 a month. Includes 1,000 text segments a month, sent and received.
- Crew — $199 a month. Includes 2,000 text segments a month, sent and received.
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and you don't need a credit card to begin. Compare plans side by side on the pricing page.
What Comes With the Platform
The core of the platform is the same idea across plans: one system for a small pest control company. That includes:
- Clients with many addresses, tags, custom fields and CSV import
- Recurring quarterly, bi-monthly and monthly plans on the Waiting List map
- Routes on the dispatch board with auto-routing and printable route sheets
- Chemical application records, products, mixes and chemical reports
- Property measurements from the satellite map
- The tech app on iPhone and Android, with no app store
- The customer app, alerts, two-way texting and post-treatment emails
- Estimates with online approval, invoices, card on file and monthly statements
Check the pricing page for exactly what each plan includes before you choose.
What Is a Text Segment?
The main difference people notice between plans is the text allowance. Texts are counted in segments. A short plain text is usually one segment. Long texts, and some special characters, use more. The allowance counts both texts you send and replies you receive.
For most small companies, the right plan depends on how many customers get alerts and how much back-and-forth texting the office does. A one-truck company with a few hundred quarterly accounts often starts on Start. A company with several trucks, lots of commercial accounts and an office that texts customers all day may want Pro or Crew. Keep automated messages short and you'll stretch the allowance. Texting is covered in Texting and Customer Alerts in Pest Control Software.
How to Think About the Cost
The fair way to judge software pricing is against what it replaces and what it saves. Take a quarterly customer paying you $125 a visit. If the software helps you catch one overdue account a month that would otherwise have slipped and cancelled, that's a year of quarterly visits saved.
Then there is time. Evenings spent filling in chemical records from tickets, typing invoices, calling customers to say you're coming and chasing checks are evenings the software can give back. And card-on-file charges at completion mean money arrives the day the work is done.
You know your own numbers better than any sales page. Run them with your own prices.
What to Watch for When Comparing
When you compare any pest control software, look at the whole monthly cost, not just the headline price:
- Is the tech app included, or extra?
- Are chemical records included, or a separate module?
- Is there a per-truck or per-user fee on top?
- Is texting included, and how much?
- Is there a setup fee or a long contract?
A low price that doubles once you add the pieces you need isn't really low.
Picking a Plan When You Are Not Sure
If you can't decide between plans, start with the one that matches how much your company texts today, and watch your text use during the first month. If you are well under the allowance, you picked right. If you are close to it every month, look at the next plan up. The same goes for growth: a company adding a second or third truck often finds that the extra texting from more routes is what pushes it to a bigger plan. The trial is the best time to get a feel for this, since you will see real alerts and replies going out with your real customers.
Try It Before You Pay
The 14-day free trial is the best way to decide. Import a few real accounts, set up your main mix, run one real route from the tech app, and see if the records, texts and invoices come out right. No credit card needed to start.
